Round 3 Northern Tasmania Results

The round 3 in Riverside was a pleasant day with very entertaining games, we hope that all the spectators enjoyed that.

The day started with the Under 18's game ,as usual. After a good start with 2 goals by Cameron Leonard, including a great free-kick, the team struggled to finish the job and concealed two goals in the last minutes to finish with a draw 2-2.

After this disappointing end, everyone hoped that the Reserve will show the qualities they displayed on the first game and get over last game. The game started well with a new goal by Tommy Macqueen.
In the second half Daniel Phillips was severely sent off and Riverside got a penalty just after. After a second red card but for a Riverside player, they found a second time the net to win 2-1 against a United team which showed improvements since last week.

To finish the day both senior teams produced a real Thriller with unfortunately an unlucky and undeserved end for United.

Riverside surprised us with a very quick goal in the first 3 minutes. They found the net a second time 10 minutes later. United put the pressure and spent most of the time in Riverside side. Thors Nimely scored twice before the half and we finish the first period with plenty of hope regarding to what happened.

Both team started the second half at full speed and the game started to get more intense. Riverside got a controversial penalty but Agele Luate scored his first goal, 3-3. Riverside got an other one before Agele put united back on again. Just after a forgotten handball in Riverside box which should have lead to a penalty for us, they scored the last goal of this game at the 83th minutes. Unfortunately we missed several occasion to get the draw before the end.

There are plenty of good things to remember and to improve for next game against City even without the win. The team is still building and a win in the next step.

On Sunday the women team played against a very strong Ulvertone team and loosed 7-2. Goals by Eve Dougherty and Melissa Griffiths.

New pictures should come soon.
