The first round of the Statewide Cup saw Launceston United faced Launceston City in a hot derby in Mitsubishi Park last Thursday.
Despite the cold temperature numerous of spectators were on the park to support there favourite side.
City scored first in the middle of the first half after a confusion in our defence (1'30). United tried develop a pass game and had the possession while City proceeded by counter attack.
On the second half Nathan Bartlett found the net after an assist over the defence by A. Rubel (6'45). Cameron Leonard gave the win four United after a nice slalom in city defence (7'45).
The team go through the first round of the Statewide Lakoseljac Cup and will playe the round of 16 on the 21st of May.
